man wtf does Hard Candy put in their lipstick, shit's delicious

also anyone have product recommendations/anecdotal evidence for dark circles, yellow eyeshadow doesn't do shit for me and neither does a layer of concealer :/ I have them even when I get enough sleep and it sucks because it means I can't use any extreme eyeshadow without looking like my nonexistent boyfriend punched me in the face twice. And I need to be able to pull that shit off, it's like being a skinny cook.

note to self: call Roseanne up and ask her what the biz is like; I feel guilty about "wasting" my intellect in hair and makeup but at the same time I'm bored no matter what I do so let's do something I like doing idk

I have never tried their lipstick, but I have a cute lipgloss duo from them on a keychain thing....not that I put it on my key chain. Now you're reminded me to dig it out.

Anyway Hilda, it turns out you have the same cosmetic problem I've been suffering with for years. My eyes have deep, dark circles under them I hate with a passion. If I ever got surgery on anything it would be that. If they can really fix that.

Now, unsolicited girl talk- I've tried a whole bunch of those 'circle eraser' and eye type products without much success. My current regime is Olay definity intense hydrating cream- I think that's right. I got it as a sample from something or the other. Anyway, I liked it well enough I went and bought it when the sample ran out. It's not billed as being for dark circles, but anti-aging, brightening and age spots. It's pearlescent if you look at it, so that's seemed to help, but it's mild. Honestly I wish it were easier to get samples because I want to try and see how their concealer works, but I don't want to spend money on something I use once and hate.

Moving on- probably the awesomest single product I got was this from Sephora as a sample. Allergies are making my eyes not up for much makeup at the moment, but normally I'm a Sephora junky. Not like I'm super beautiful, more like my face needs all the help it can get. I would have gotten it as a full size, except...$45. Maybe I should just woman up and save up for it. I think I got the sample in refreshed which I thought would be too dark for me, but worked out well anyway.

Let's see, after that, I do use concealer- bare minerals. That does help for me, but the secret is I use a layer of lighter over where it's very dark- then put on a layer of actual skin tone over that. Some people say a little bit of bronzer, and I've tried that in the summer, but idk, you have to be careful not to use too much. Eyes are very sensitive to color changes, too light around the skin and you look washed out, too dark and it also looks weird. Sometimes I put mineral veil over that, but not always. Oh, the other thing I do is apply the powder wet.

Then finally I use a highlighter under my brows. These days I'm not putting any shadow on my lids, but when I was I'd use it with whatever I was wearing. True, it doesn't go under the eyes, but somehow it lightens them and makes them look brighter, which helps the overall effect. I use something I got from Korres and now can't find online- it is one of their eyeshadows in golden. Well I guess I shall just have to hoard mine till Sephora stocks more. Right now they don't have any in- they had a sale awhile ago, maybe they're not restocking. Anyway, I really like it, it's almost invisible yet really brightening. That's my main eye makeup these days, sob. You no idea how sad I was when there was all this lovely coraly and orange eye make up and I couldn't wear it. Not everyone can pull it off by mysteriously oranges are great for my eyes cause they're a weird amberish color.

I just love makeup because I love makeup. From painting faces at parties as a kid to, well...painting my face as an adult, I just love the artistic side of it. I like being able to alter appearance.

If you do want to practice on yourself- you can kinda do it at various makeup counters. I always feel pressured to buy stuff though so I don't like to. But I've done that with other people to help them plan out their makeup for dances and stuff. I...I've been buying the more expensive makeup brands though so this doesn't always help me, though sometimes natural food stores have some things I like, or boutiques, or especially actual Sephora stores. Sometimes they'll have free makeover/consultation events.
